Privacy Policy

Husband Reward Points ("HRP", "we", "us") is an app made by J BALL SPORTS, LLC, a Florida limited liability company, 228 Corelli Dr, Nokomis, FL 34275, USA. Contact: husbandrewardpoints@gmail.com.

The short version

Most of what you type stays on your phone.
If you pair with your partner, your household's shared records are stored on our servers so both phones match.
We do not sell your personal data, and we don't share it for cross-app advertising.
You can export your data, unpair, or delete your household's server copy at any time from Settings.

What we collect and why

1. Data on your phone (local storage). Names, roles, points, history, asks, rewards, to-dos, badges, levels, family schedule, birthdays, settings and photos you attach are saved in your browser's local storage on the device. We cannot see this data unless it is synced (see 2). Photos stay on the device and are not synced.

2. Household sync (optional, when you pair). When you create or join a household, a copy of your shared records is stored on our servers so that both paired phones show the same data. This includes:

history, pending approvals, to-dos, auctions, Her Asks and counters, her list, rewards, the task list, saved custom acts, Dominate the Day results, badges, family events and templates, kids' first names and birthdays, the baseline, check-ins, out-of-town dates, task offers;
and these shared settings: display names, roles, approval settings, theme, relationship mode, profiles (needs, wants, likes, preferences) and level progress.

The data is stored with Cloudflare (Workers and Durable Objects) in a record that only your household's secret token can unlock. It travels over encrypted HTTPS connections. It is not end-to-end encrypted, so it is readable on our servers.

3. Invite codes. To pair, the app creates a single-use code that lasts 7 days. We store only a keyed hash of the code, plus the household token encrypted with the code. If you add them, the invite also carries your first name and the roles. A code is deleted once it is used, when you make a new one, or when it expires.

4. Push notifications (optional). If you turn on notifications, your browser gives us a push address (from Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft's push service). We store it with your role and a random device ID, so that we can send alerts such as "points waiting for approval" or "hold your rank". The text of each alert passes through that push service. Alerts respect your Quiet Hours and the toggles in Settings.

5. Email alerts (optional, if offered). If email alerts are enabled for your household, the partner email address you enter and the alert text are sent through our email provider, Resend, to deliver the message.

6. Invite gate and abuse protection. When you enter an invite passcode, or look up or use an invite code, our server briefly counts requests per network address to block guessing. It stores a hashed form of the address and deletes it when the time window ends (at most 24 hours).

7. Hosting logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard technical data such as IP address, device and browser type, and request times, to deliver and secure the service. We do not use these logs to profile your relationship.

8. Feedback and support. If you email us, or use "Send feedback" (which opens your own email app), we receive what you send and your email address.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, health data or payment card data, and we use no analytics or advertising trackers.

Advertising and paid plans (planned)

We plan to offer optional contextual local tips, chosen only from the screen you're on (for example a florist tip on the Redeem screen). These tips will not use profiles built across other apps or sites, and you can turn them off. We also plan a paid ad-free option. Before either launches, we'll update this policy. Payments will be handled by the app store or a payment processor, not by us.

How we share data

Service providers that run HRP for us: Cloudflare (hosting, sync, storage), web push services, Resend (email) and Google (Gmail, for support email). They may use your data only to provide their service to us.
Your partner: whatever you sync is visible on your paired partner's phone.
Legal reasons: if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety or our rights.
Business transfer: if HRP is sold or merged, under this policy's protections.

We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

How long we keep data

On your phone: until you delete it or clear the app.
Household sync data: until you choose Settings → Delete household from server, or after 24 months with no activity from any device (proposed, counsel to confirm).
Invite codes: up to 7 days.
Push addresses: until you turn notifications off, or the push service says the address is gone.
Rate-limit counters: up to 24 hours.

Your choices and rights

Export: Settings → Export my data downloads a file of your data.
Delete: Settings → Delete household from server removes the synced copy, the codes and the push addresses. Clearing the app or your browser data removes the local copy.
Notifications: turn them off in Settings or in your phone settings.
Access, correction and deletion requests: email husbandrewardpoints@gmail.com. Depending on where you live (for example California, Virginia, Colorado or the EU/UK), you may have more rights, such as the right to know, to correct, to delete or to appeal. We'll respond within the time the law requires and won't treat you differently for using your rights.

Children

HRP is for adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Parents may enter a child's first name and birthday for family scheduling. That data stays in the household's own records, and a parent can delete it at any time.

Security

We use HTTPS, hashed and encrypted invite records, secret household tokens, and per-household storage. No system is perfect: protect your phone with a lock screen, because anyone with access to your browser profile can read the local data.

International users

HRP is run from the United States, and data may be processed in the US and wherever Cloudflare operates.

Changes

We'll post updates here and change the date above. For material changes, we'll tell you in the app before they take effect.

Terms of Use

These Terms are an agreement between you and J BALL SPORTS, LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("we", "us"), about your use of the Husband Reward Points app and website (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Who can use HRP

You must be 18 or older and able to make a binding contract. HRP is meant to be used with the consent of both partners. While HRP is invite-only, you need a valid invite.

2. What HRP is, and isn't

HRP is a lighthearted tool that helps couples notice and appreciate everyday effort with points, levels, asks and rewards. It is not counseling, therapy, medical, legal or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for honest conversation. Points have no cash value and can't be exchanged for money or property from us. Rewards are agreements between you and your partner, not obligations of ours. If you are in an unsafe relationship, put your safety first: in the US, call 911, or the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233.

3. Your account, household and devices

Your data lives on your device. If you pair with a partner, your shared records sync through our servers. Keep your phone and invite codes private. Anyone with your unlocked phone, or an unused invite code, may be able to see or join your household. You can delete the synced household at any time in Settings.

4. Your content

You own what you enter (names, notes, asks, rewards, photos). You give us a limited license to store, sync and display it only to run the Service for you and your partner. Do not enter anything illegal, threatening or harassing, and don't infringe anyone's rights.

5. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the Service. That means: don't break or probe its security, scrape it, overload it, reverse engineer it except where the law allows, use it to harass or control someone, or use it for anything illegal.

6. Notifications

If you enable push or email alerts, you agree to receive them. You can turn them off at any time.

7. Paid features and ads (future)

The Service is currently free. We may later add optional contextual local tips and a paid ad-free plan. Any prices, billing, renewal and cancellation terms will be shown before you buy, and handled by the app store or our payment processor.

8. Our intellectual property

The app, its design, artwork, sounds, code and the marks Husband Reward Points™, HRP™ and "Bringing Harmony to relationships everywhere!"™ belong to J BALL SPORTS, LLC. Open-source components are licensed under their own terms (Settings → Open-source licenses). Feedback you send us may be used without obligation to you.

9. Changes and ending use

We may update the Service or these Terms. If a change is material, we'll notify you in the app. You can stop using HRP at any time. We may suspend access for misuse.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW. We don't promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that sync will never lose data. Keep exports of anything important.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, J BALL SPORTS, LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA OR RELATIONSHIP OUTCOMES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF US$50 OR WHAT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. (Amount for counsel to confirm.)

12. Indemnity

You agree to cover our reasonable losses from claims that arise out of your content or your misuse of the Service.

13. Governing law and disputes

Florida law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Sarasota County, Florida, unless the law where you live gives you a different right. (Arbitration, class waiver and small-claims carve-out: for counsel to decide.)
